  • Rusty Boy was a healthy 2-year old cat until he suddenly became ill and unable to urinate!  We initially brought him to the Carlsbad Mohnacky Hospital where x-rays, ultrasound and medication were administered.  A catheter was placed and he was able to empty his bladder.  We took him home for a few days, but again he was unable to urinate.  Dr. “George” explained a surgical procedure that could be performed; however, due to cost, we opted to try additional medication.  We brought him back fearful we would have to put him to sleep.  The staff was very kind and supportive.  They explained the procedure again and worked with us on a financial plan that “Mom”, over 90-year old cat owner, could manage.  Rusty was spared, and had the surgery.  He is happy and healthy again.  We are very grateful to Mohnacky of Carlsbad for helping Rusty and “Mom”.   Special thanks to Cassie and her great professional manner. 
  • Jax is almost 7 and usually very happy, loves to cuddle and eat.  When he started losing weight and not eating but also keeping his distance, it broke my heart with all the possible things that could be wrong it was comforting at Mohnacky of Carlsbad the way that Dr. Stephens and Cassie treated him and myself.  There was no pressure to do anything I wasn't comfortable with and they made sure I understood what might be wrong and the different steps we could take to figure it out together.  Instead of jumping to test for the worst thing possible, they went step by step starting with asking questions, lots of questions that they were able to cancel out a lot of things.  Overall they know what they are doing here and treat you and your animals so kind.  It's like being in a Children's hospital, where they understand animals are like our kids.  Jax is better by far and I've never been to a vet like Mohnacky.  The staff and treatment to Jax have made us "lifer's" here.  I recommend to anyone who really loves their pet.  Thanks MAH!

  • I have been taking my Rotty/Cattle Dog mix to the Escondido location since mid-June for ear and skin infections.  My dog, Maya, was miserable until I brought her in for help.  It was a long process.  But everyone was patient with her as well as me with the ongoing visits.  Each visit was made so simple and so understandable.  They did not make me feel like an idiot.  The Doctors and Nurses at this Escondido location are very kind and they treat Maya as if she was a part of their family.  Going as many times as we have, she may as well be.  After one and a half months of rest and treatment, I figured she was good to go.  Sadly, her ear infection did come back; absolutely nothing against the team who helped her before since the sole reason for the infection was never figured out.  When we returned after nearly two months from our last visit, all the nurses had remembered her from before and one nurse took her to the back to say "Hi" to the rest of the team.  It felt good to know that Maya was not a nuisance to anyone, and that everyone says she gives such good "kisses".  I feel welcomed each and every time I visit, even if a couple of visits were for my other dog, a Chihuahua/Terrier mix, named Lotti.  She had a foxtail lodged in her inner eyelid.  Feeling a bit embarrassed by her refusal to go in to the next room, they knew how to handle nervous/stubborn dogs and gave her the same amount of care they did for Maya.  She, as well as Lotti, will always be coming back here if need be.  Although expensive, they've worked with me each time. This place is highly recommended by me!

  • MAH-Vista:  This was our first time here with our Husky puppy.  The service from the staff was beyond what I anticipated.  They gave me so much information from the start; it almost left me no room for questions.  They were very knowledgeable.  Not to mention, they made our puppy very comfortable.

  • We felt Dr. Djordjevich at Carlsbad thoroughly explained the procedure our dog needed beforehand, as well as pointing out that since Kita was a puppy.  She had a very good chance to do well versus what an older dog might go through.  We felt very confident considering all the emotional feelings we were going through.  Our family wanted to be sure that Kita would be OK and MAH contributed approximately towards our decision.  We went to a vet with our cat and we weren’t very happy.  We did not have a vet for Kita yet and now we know where to take our puppy.
  •  Our Chihuahua, Pecos, has been coming to Mohnacky Vista since birth.  He is now 4-months old and after 5-6 visits, I feel the service and treatment here has been excellent.  Office staff has been kind and knowledgeable, able to answer any and all questions concerning our baby boy.  We will continue bringing Pecos to this hospital for all his heal needs and preventative care.

  • Thank you to the staff at MAH Carlsbad for your card and the poem "Rainbow Bridge".  It's been hard, we loved Charley 110%.  Our mistake was to allow Charley to be a daytime outdoor cat.  All the warnings we were given about keeping him inside seemed to be less important than giving Charley "Quality of life".  Boy, did we regret that on October 3rd.....the night he died.  We rushed him to an emergency hospital.....he was so badly damaged (we don't know how) that just the diagnostic testing alone was $1,400 alone.  With an extremely heavy heart, we allowed him to be euthanized.  It was hard to know how appropriate the grieving should be.....your kindness made it OK.  Charley, all animals, are worthy.

  •  Mohnacky Animal Hospital of Vista:  I have now used this specific Vista location twice and so far so good.  Up until this year 2011.  This Vista facility helped me with a walk-in feline euthanasia and the staff was great.  I have now decided to start veterinary services here for my new puppy, and as of today’s visit, I have nothing but kind regards and positive feelings on what will hopefully be a new beginning on a good relationship.  They let me cry on their shoulders about what happened.  I needed to get it off my shoulders and they let me do so.  Thank you.

  •  We were new to the area and our cat had both fleas and worms.  I didn’t have an appointment but the staff was very helpful and understood my worries.  They gave me the next appointment and allowed me to fax over my cat’s records.  They were very friendly and kind with our cat.  The doctor gave us a lot of information regarding our cat and how to keep her healthy and free of fleas and worms.  Everyone was very knowledgeable as well.  We will be back and would recommend Mohnacky Hospital of Vista to fellow animal lovers.

  • My cocker spaniel needed surgery on her torn ACL.  She had the procedure in May and has had tremendous success with her recovery.  We are very pleased with the service, the doctor and staff provided for Sedona.  Four months after the surgery, you would never know our dog had experienced such a painful injury.  The financing offered to our family through the Citi Health Card made our decision very easy to proceed with the expense of the surgery.  Thank you Mohnacky Animal Hospital of Carlsbad for healing our dog.

  • I came in one day to see what was wrong with “Buster Brown” who had an abscess.  I came back because the puppy was getting worse and you treated him for a low cost since it was all I had.  Cassie took real good care of us and made sure she explained everything we needed to know in detail.  You’re a wonderful vet that I have come to for years and because of your compassion I will keep coming.

  • Before Ozzy got his hip replacement with Dr. George at Mohnacky Animal Hospital-Carlsbad, his quality of life was in a steady decline.  He didn’t want to play, was losing weight at a rapid pace, would lay in bed all day and wouldn’t even get up for treats.  After the surgery, he is a new dog.  We’ve had to isolate him because he wants to play so much.  Pretty immediately he was back to normal.  If I didn’t know any better, I’d want to take him to dog beach today.  After he is completely healed, we look very forward to getting back to our beach play.  Thanks so much to Mohnacky and Dr. George for giving Ozzy back his quality of life.  We look forward to many years on his new hip.

  •  I am very pleased with the care of my dog Norah Jones by Dr. Stephens and the staff at Carlsbad.  As always, the procedure was explained & questions were answered.  Because Norah was going to have an anesthetic procedure in the future and the doctor offered options so as to not compromise her with health. 
  • Dr. George of Carlsbad performed surgery on my dog Lillie.   A friend who happens to be a vet saw her 5 days latter and was so impressed that Lillie was doing so well in such a short period of time.  I have complete confidence in Dr. George and am so pleased that Lillie has improved so quickly.  My only challenge is keeping her reasonably quiet until she is completely healed.

  • Dr. George and the Carlsbad Mohnacky Animal Hospital has taken care of my dog Smokey since he was diagnosed with hip dysphasia in February 2010.  On May 4, 2011, Smokey under went the Helica Total Hip Replacement.  Today, May 10th he is the happiest he has been in a long time.  Dr. George and the entire staff of Mohnacky Carlsbad is wonderful and have taken great care of Smokey

  • On May 4th, we brought our dog in for a follow up visit from the emergency clinic.  Your doctor determined that Sedona would not heal on her own and surgery was the next step.  They were able to do the surgery right away.  The staff was very caring and sensitive towards our concerns about the procedure.  We received daily calls from the staff updating us on her progress.  We were allowed to visit Sedona before and after surgery which was very important to our family.  My youngest son has such a strong bond with Sedona and treats her like a sibling and not a pet.  Sedona helps fill a void that my son experiences while my husband is deploys overseas.  Thank you to the staff at Mohnacky Carlsbad for providing such wonderful care for our Sedona.

  • Our 17 week old Akita puppy had something wrong with her right leg, it was bowed and 2-3 inches shorter than the other leg. I was referred to Dr. George by Dr. Dixon @ Mohnacky Escondido and could not have had two better doctors.  Dr. George and his staff at Carlsbad were very patient with me and my husband and answered all our questions no matter how many times it was repeated.  Everyone could see how emotionally upset I was and was treated with such kindness and their smiles made me feel so much better.  Knowing Nikki was in excellent care made her surgery more relaxing for me.  Jamie is an excellent Nurse…very patient and kindhearted.  My experience has been great.  Dr. George explained the pre-surgery, surgery and post-surgery in great detail.  We couldn’t have asked for anyone more qualified.  The Mohnacky Animal Hospital came highly recommended and I am truly appreciative of everyone there.

  • I am so glad that my wife signed our new puppy Daisy up for Trupanion Pet Insurance that was offered at your hospital.  Daisy tried attacking her brother by leaping at him from the bed….she missed and broke 3 bones in her paw.  Mohnacky hospital did a thorough evaluation and decided that surgery was not the best option.  She received a cast and should be healed enough to remove in 2 weeks.  Puppies are unpredictable, so I’m glad we had the insurance.  The staff at Mohnacky Escondido and Carlsbad were exceptional and kept me informed every step along the way.  I felt confident in the decisions made by both the veterinarians who examined and treated Daisy.

  • I had a good reception from the Carlsbad hospital when I called regarding the reminder card that I received for my pet's overdue vaccines and yearly check up.  The staff was polite and very thorough on what was required.  Costs were very reasonable.  I also received a call as promised after my pet came through surgery. 
  •  The doctor and nurses have answered all our questions in perfect detail and were very patient with all our questions and concerns.  So far, it has been a great experience and I feel very comfortable in handing over my baby Starra to the Carlsbad staff.
  • Dr. Djordjevich in Carlsbad saved our dear Elway, a 9-year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.  In February 2010, Elway had a heart attack from a defective heart valve degeneration.  After CPR at home, we brought her back to life!  The prognosis was grim.  The “textbook” prognosis was 2-8 weeks.  But Dr. Djordjevich was hopeful and optimistic and put Elway on the prescribed medicines for his condition, plus an additional “human” heart medicine.  Dr. Djordjevich also started Elway on pet stem cells (StemPet).  Our first goal was to make it to September 1, 2010, Elway’s 10th birthday.  We made it.  The next goal was Christmas 2010 and we made it.  Our next goal is February 12, 2011, which will be one year.  We are now nearing the end of January 2011, so we are hopeful we’ll get past the one-year mark.  Every day we have Elway is a gift.  Thanks so much to Mohnacky Animal Hospital!  By far the best vets we have seen with our three Cavaliers (Elway, Kobe and Tiger).
  •  The experience Brownie and I had in was absolutely wonderful.   They made sure that I was aware of and understood the care that she needed.  The surgery Brownie needed was more than I could afford.  But you did everything you could to help us, which included getting me in contact with FACE Foundation.  I was walked through the application process from beginning to end.  Everyone was very helpful when it came to keeping me updated with what was going on with my baby.  The care Brownie and I received was nothing short of extraordinary.  I called a lot to check on her and never was I made to feel as if I was a bother, no matter whom I was speaking to.  I will recommend this office to anyone I know who is looking for a vet where they can be confident that not only their pet will be properly cared for but they will be as well.  The pets brought here are not only the patients, we the owners are as well and everyone here at Mohnacky Carlsbad understands that.

  • A huge thank you to Mohnacky Animal Hospital of Carlsbad.  Rosie, as well as all pets, is a very special angel with fur.  She has a job to do as a very important Kelly Elementary School member.  Her main role is to be known as Rosie the Reading Dog and to invite a sense of confidence and non-judgment as students improve reading skills.  But she is also a confidant, a playmate, and all around good buddy to the children.  Recently, she has stepped into the next level as we have just completed the paperwork to become Pet Partners through the Delta Society.  Following the terrifying incident of a school shooting on October 8, the Delta Society sent teams to help children reclaim their campus.  They faithfully arrived at recess and lunches for two weeks straight. Watching their healing work and the benefit they provided our families made Rosie want to join their team to give back to others the good they gave to her children.  Mohnacky Animal Hospital graciously and compassionately cared for Rosie who now is fully ready to continue her good work.  We are so grateful.
  • When I adopted my dog from the North County Humane Society this is where they sent her for her spay. They were wonderful. The morning of her spay the Humane Society dropped her off, so we did not meet the vet before her surgery. However, the office did call us to see if we wanted any other services while she was there. We ended up having them bathe her before the surgery because she was filthy due to being a stray and getting pain meds for her. I think for all that it cost about $50 because the spay was already covered. When we picked her up she looked great and was so clean. The incision was very small, only about an inch, and she was not in pain. If I lived in Oceanside I would use them for everything but they are just not close enough to us.

  • They weighed her and then put us into a room.  I believe it was RC who was at the front and then came into the room and took her vitals- very nice person and SO good with trying to make her comfortable - seriously who would want their temperature taken "that" way?
  • Then Dr. Paris and an Assistant came in to the room. Holy Cow!  She asked what medication she was on and gave me suggestions to help her health by trying to wean her off prednisone (a steroid).  She spent a lot of time with me talking about her health (she is an older pooch on meds).   All I could think was with all this attention and time spent with us they are going to charge me for the office visit that they tried to sell me on the phone.  She suggested a blood test due to her age and the length of time she has been on meds that we should check her functions.  She was not pushy- again a very nice person.

We started taking our Rotti there in 1998 when we moved to Oceanside, and the loving vet and vet techs sat on the floor and cried with me when we had to put him down in 2008 at the age of 12.  We now drive up from San Diego just to bring our latest Rotti daughter to see her "friends". Will never go anywhere else.
  • The doctors and staff at Mohnacky are wonderful. Their expertise, thoroughness, and caring have literally saved my senior dog's life on more than one occasion. Everyone is caring and attentive. They offer a no interest loan program, which is great when you have to make difficult decisions about the level of care for your pet.
  • They offer a pretty good puppy plan which includes all the necessary shots and a neuter/spay plus free unlimited visits for a year for one, upfront fee. They make your next appointment before you leave and they send out reminder cards and are good about keeping you on track. I thought the staff was pretty friendly and informative. They were also pretty accommodating to emergency appointments when we got worried about our pup. We brought both of our puppies there to get neutered/spayed and get their shots. They are always very upfront about costs, which I like, and they always go over all the alternatives. It's a pretty good plan, and you do end up saving a good amount of money. We stopped going just because they were kinda far from us and we stopped going to north county as much.

  • I go to the one off Valle Terrace because its close to where i live. Its pretty clean and nice inside. The price to fix both my male cats was pretty cheap. They even called the next day to see how my kitties were doing. I also buy my Advantage there because its cheaper then anywhere else.
